**Update 7/10/25**

Kristina's mastectomy went well and she is healing nicely. She will be starting chemo on July 24th, which will be 5 months long. After that she will start radiation for 1-2 months. The support we have received for Kristina has been incredible. I am so grateful to everyone who has contributed and helped us reach our initial goal! Now that we know that she still has a long treatment journey ahead of her, I have updated the goal and am again sharing in hopes we can continue to support her and alleviate some of the financial burdens during this time. Kristina is as strong as they come, and fiercely independent. Not being able to care for herself and provide for herself has been more difficult for her than I could describe. So every contribution makes such a big impact and as her best friend, I am eternally grateful to all of you. We love you, Kristina!

Kristina Yamamoto is a dear friend, and an incredibly talented photographer in San Diego, California. She always brings fun and kindness to everyone she meets and those who know her love her deeply. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer at age 38 and will be having a mastectomy on June 17th. This is an especially hard reality since her mother was diagnosed at 37, and ended up losing her battle with breast cancer when Kristina was only 12 years old. Kristina did all the genetic testing and it came back negative, so it was even more of a shock when she heard her diagnosis a few weeks ago. As a small business owner/ solo entrepreneur, being unable to work and create income during her treatments and healing process must be extremely stressful on top of it all. I know so many people in her circle and community would love to help her however they can, so I wanted to start this gofundme to give people the opportunity to contribute to her care. Kristina, we love you so much. You are so strong, and we are all here for you as you fight.
