Fire plus health crises -- please support as Kristina's livelihood has been impacted
After spending a week in the hospital due to a serious infection, my cousin Kristina (Krissy) was finally discharged and is wrestling with the financial impacts of losing a week-plus of work as someone who is self-employed and doesn't get sick pay. She is still on strict rest orders and has to have home health nurse come to administer IV medication via PIC line and do wound care.

Kristina had been home barely 24 hours and was navigating her precarious health issue when she heard someone in the alley behind her apartment yell "fire in the alley!" Soon flames were engulfing the garage where she has a home workshop for her jewelry/metalsmith business plus equipment, appliances like washer/dryer, and many important personal effects stored. Nearly all of it was lost.
Fortunately she and her roommate and her dogs were able to run out of the house to safety and firefighters arrived swiftly to spare the fire from spreading in the neighborhood. We're grateful everyone is safe and her housing was spared from the fire.
But her home workshop and additional area that burned is a massive loss -- made even worse by her recent stay in the hospital and ongoing health complications that impact her livelihood right now.
Anything you can help with will really support Kristina as she tries to get back on her feet after this double blow. Thank you.
