I am reaching out to my friends and coworkers in need of some help. On Dec 11, 2018 I was unloading an inmate on a gurney and felt a pull in my shoulder shoulder blade and neck. The next day I was unable to move my neck or use my left arm. As of today, I have shoulder surgery back in June 2019. A week after surgery I was complaining to the doc that I was having massive pain in my bicep any time I moved my arm even the slightest and would bring me to tears. He said that it was completely normal and continue doing what I was doing. In April of 2020 my work comp doc decided to kiss my on my lips (his statement was cause he couldn’t control himself), which delayed my medical 4 months. Trying to find another doc after having surgery and still having many problems was hard. I eventually had to go with a Telehealth doctor. As of today, I am currently being treated for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome ( i am unable to take medication for this as I am allergic to three of them). I have a bulging disc at C5/6. I have muscle atrophy, have lost sensation in my left arm and hand. If I have it in one position to long my hand goes ice cold. At times I am unable to grip thing, even the steering wheel to drive. My first injection was in November and it did not provide any relief. I take pain medication every day just to help manage the pain. In December I was told I need to medically retire as my medical condition continues to decline, I am looking at another shoulder surgery and another injection to see if it will help. I have exhausted all my leave credits and I am hoping I can get hours donated so I can keep a roof over mine and my sons head, food on the table, and my medical insurance as I am using it to help for treatment. I would greatly appreciate any hours even if it is one or two. I understand conditions at work aren’t the greatest with COVID and totally understand if you are unable to help. Medically retirement takes approximately 3-4 months. Thank you for any assistance and or prayers.. I am grateful beyond words...
