This is to raise some money for my friend and soon-to-be my step mom. Her name is Kristin and she was suddenly and very recently diagnosed with cancer. Kristin is a very hardworking mother and even recently just had another grand baby (not even a month old). With all the appointments, medications, chemo/radiation, and surgeries she will be enduring, as well as the recovery time (and time off from work), the insurance will surely not cover all, and there will be so many expenses incurred. She also was a full-time in-house caregiver for her mother, who unfortunately endures dementia as well as other medical issues which require round-the-clock 24/7 care.

The weight of this fight isn’t just physical or emotional…it’s financial, as well. Medical bills, medications, and the daily costs of living will become overwhelming as Kristin was a nurse for many years and still works in the medical field, supports her mom and has many bills and extra expenses already! It has been humbling to watch her go from a woman who could provide for all her loved ones to one who needs support in this radical way. Kristin has always helped so many when they needed it, without flinching an eye. However, we need the help of our community and friends now more than ever.
