Help Kristin and Josh Recover from the Eaton Fire

Donation protected
On January 7, our friends Kristin Slaysman and Josh Crockett were evacuated from their home in Altadena with their two daughters. The 14,000-acre Eaton fire devastated their neighborhood, burning several homes on their actual block, before being contained less than a quarter mile away. Their house is still standing but damaged by smoke and ash. The path forward is unclear and they are currently unable to return home.

The environmental consequences of this fire are only beginning to be understood, but there is consensus on one thing: when building materials burn, they create ashes that are hazardous for young children to breathe. These ashes are and will remain airborne as the massive project of demolition and construction begins in Altadena.

If you are reading this, you likely know Josh and Kristin, and how much they love their house, their neighborhood, and their daughters. Any contribution will go towards keeping them safe until their house is habitable, and give them some peace of mind as they navigate the logistical challenges ahead.

Jess Lacher is organizing this fundraiser. She is a friend of the family and lives in Los Angeles. All donations will go directly to the family to support them while they are displaced.
