Hello, my name is Kristin McKinney. With profound sadness, my mother and I are victims of a recent house fire that took place on Jan 26th, 2020 in Saanich, B.C in the Broadmead area. In the fire, we tragically lost one of our beloved cats due to smoke inhalation. Our hearts are broken. Thankfully our other two cats are okay and healing with us. The cause of the fire remains unknown and will be under investigation for the next few weeks. Due to these circumstances, my mother and I have found ourselves in dire need of paying for a 2 month hotel stay. Furthermore, we have to cover costs associated with burial rites, follow-up appointments for both cats as well as replacing clothing items to stay warm and to cover groceries. While employed, we do not have the means to cover such high, unexpected expenses. Any donations will help to ensure my mom, myself, and our cats are safe and secure while our home is being rebuilt.
