For the past ten years, I have dedicated my life to rescuing and caring for animals in need. I have helped hundreds of animals find safety and a second chance, and I have always done my best to provide them with love and care. Recently, my world was turned upside down when my house was raided by Fish and Game after someone reported me for not having a permit. During the raid, Fish and Game had guns drawn on me, flew drones over my house, and people climbed over my backyard wall. They took five of my rescued animals—two opossums, one owl, and two ferrets. These animals are now facing uncertain futures, as they may be put down or evaluated for release. Fish and Game is turning my case over to the District Attorney, and I am now at risk of facing legal charges for my rescue work. I believe this was a complete abuse of force and a waste of taxpayers' money.

This experience has been devastating, not only for me but for the animals I have worked so hard to protect. I have already hired an attorney to help me fight these charges and to try to save my rescued animals. The legal fees are overwhelming, and I cannot do this alone. I am heartbroken by what has happened, but I am so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from my community—over 300 people have reached out to me.
