Hi friends and family. I never thought I would be asking for help like this but I really need it. Life has been a complete rollercoaster ride and it’s not smoothing out. Last year we found a non cancerous tumor in my uterus. We decided we would see the growth pattern over the next year and determine what to do. Well, it grew and the best plan of action (due to many other health related issues; endometriosis, cysts, history of cancerous cells… the works) was to do a hysterectomy. We scheduled the surgery for April 10th, I got the time off approved by my main source income job! All was good to go! Then, March 10th I was terminated from my main source income job, exactly 30 days before my scheduled surgery. Fortunately I have always been one to have two sometimes three jobs, so I was not left unemployed. I was completely blindsided by the termination and that was the start of the struggle. I had planned on using the FAMLI Benefits to get me through the recovery time off to keep me a float. But was unable to apply for them due to being terminated. And the job I still have is brand new so I didn’t have any sick pay accrued, so I had to take two and a half weeks off with no pay. Surgery went great. No complications! I was advised to take off 3-4 weeks but I cannot afford it. I’ve spent every penny I have just to keep our phones on and groceries in the house. Then, April 24th my grandpa passed away. My mom and a friend are paying for me to fly down to Texas so I can be there for services. But it’s not cheap and my mom has already spent so much money taking her own Emergancy flight down there and so much more. I’m falling behind on bills quickly, can’t pay rent for May and I want to help reimburse my mom for doing this for me. I’m happy to give any details or answer any questions anyone has…. Some details I have left out for privacy of others. Thank you for whatever you can give, it means the world to me and helps so much during this struggle.
