My name is Kristen, and I am reaching out for help during one of the most challenging times of my life. After eight years at my job, I lost my position and, during that time, became disabled and unable to use my arms and legs due to autoimmune diseases and botched surgeries. I have tried extensively to find new employment, but opportunities require me to physically go into an office, which is not possible for me right now. I am in the process of applying for disability benefits, but as many know, that process can take a long time and I have immediate needs that cannot wait. I do not have any family support, which makes things even tougher.
The funds raised here will help me cover my living expenses and significant medical costs, as I had to switch to a low-cost state healthcare plan. I also need an electric power wheelchair to help me get to doctor’s appointments and manage daily activities. Another urgent need is for a caregiver to assist me with activities of daily living. At the moment, I can only afford a caregiver three to four days a week, and I am close to not being able to afford that at all. Your support will help me maintain some independence and dignity while I work toward recovery.
I am deeply grateful for any support, in any amount, that you can offer. I know times are tough for everyone, and even sharing my GoFundMe with others means the world to me. I have hopes of walking again, but it will take time. I will never forget any help I receive and will always pay it forward. Thank you for being part of my journey.
