Help Kristen Recover and Rebuild After Knee Surgery

Hi everyone,

My name is Kristen, and I’ve been working hard to rebuild my life. I’ve been sober since October 22, 2024, and I’ve been taking big steps toward stability—attending programs, working, and almost securing my very own apartment.

But on August 27th, I suffered a serious injury. I dislocated and fractured my patella (kneecap), and there are bone fragments in the joint that require surgery. Because of this, I can’t work, and without income, I wasn’t able to sustain the apartment I was so close to moving into. Right now, I’m facing both surgery and the challenge of keeping myself afloat while I recover.

This GoFundMe is to help cover basic living expenses—food, temporary housing, and essentials— wait for Medicaid to kick in so that i can have this surgery to fix my knee so that I can start healing to get back in my feet again!

My ultimate goal hasn’t changed:

To stay strong in my recovery, continue building stability, and secure my own place again once I’m physically able to work.
