Help Kristen Fight Breast Cancer & Care for Her Children

Hi, my name is Kristen, and asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

I’m a single mom of two, self-employed, and on November 26th, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. From that moment on, life shifted in ways I never could have prepared for.

After meeting with doctors and weighing my options, I am moving forward with a double mastectomy scheduled for January 20th, followed by a second reconstructive surgery approximately two months later. These are major surgeries with long recovery periods, and they will require me to step away from work while my body heals.

Because I’m self-employed, there is no paid medical leave or safety net. Every day I’m unable to work directly impacts my ability to support my children and keep our household running. This is why I’m reaching out — something I never imagined I’d have to do.

What This Fund Is For

Funds raised will help cover:

• Medical expenses not fully covered by insurance

• Costs related to my January 20th double mastectomy

• Recovery support between surgeries

• Expenses related to my second surgery and reconstruction

• Household bills during recovery (mortgage, utilities, groceries)

• Travel and care-related treatment costs

Why I’m Asking

The diagnosis itself has been overwhelming, but the hardest part has been asking for help.

I’ve always been independent — a provider, a problem-solver, and someone others rely on. Right now, my focus has to be on healing so I can continue to be present for my children and build a healthy future for us.
