On the night of September 28th, Kristen and Noah, 13, were driving home from celebrating their grandma’s birthday in Joplin when their lives changed in an instant. They were involved in a serious car accident that left their car totaled and Noah critically injured.

Thanks to her seatbelt and airbags, Kristen had minor injuries and bruising, but Noah, who had at some point taken off his seatbelt in the back seat, was thrown forward into the windshield. He suffered multiple skull and facial fractures, a broken clavicle, and a shattered femur. He had to be life-flighted to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. He’s already undergone major surgery on his leg and will still need another surgery for his skull fracture.

Noah has been in the hospital for over a week and a half now, and Kristen hasn’t left his side once. They still haven’t been able to return home, and she’s missed work as she focuses completely on his recovery. When Noah is finally able to go home, he’ll need medical equipment and continued care to help him regain strength and mobility.

Noah is a bright, active 13-year-old who loves playing soccer, something he may not be able to do again for a long time. The physical and emotional recovery ahead will be long and challenging, but Kristen and Noah are both incredibly strong and resilient.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Medical bills and ongoing care

• Medical equipment for home recovery

• Lost wages while Kristen stays by Noah’s side

• A replacement vehicle, as their car was destroyed in the crash
