TLDR: IT TAKES A VILLAGE especially in this economy. Mama of 5 - four still at home - needs urgent help as she navigates endless ER and specialist visits.
I’m doing this to try to help a friend of mine, with whom I co-parent. This woman's family is intrinsically tied into mine, as one of her kids spends half the year with us.
Krista has been chasing her health since she left a violent marriage two years ago and unfortunately her poor health is winning right now. Between ED visits, a hospital stay and multiple follow ups, she still doesn’t have many answers and is having a hard keeping her head above water. Meeting her family's basic NEEDS is becoming Increasingly difficult as she has now missed almost two weeks of work and she still has more appointments ahead including: cardiology, gynecology, rheumatology, orthopedic, and physical therapy. Not having a vehicle makes this an additional burden, but some financial cushion would help pay her bills for the month while she gets appointments on the roster to try to find answers. Her employer was understanding at first, but the extended time off is putting her job in jeapordy despite her best efforts to walk 5 miles round trip to work daily even through her persistent health problems.
She’s worked tirelessly, to her body's detriment, to rebuild her life and gain her independence but she lives day to day on tips. Missing so much work has her in deep scarcity mode for November's bills. She still hasn’t financially recovered from a life saving surgery in March, so the valley of fear and scarcity grows deeper by the day.
If you have room in your wallet and heart to spare any funds to help Krista get past this trench, it might keep a mama, three teens and one young adult child, stay housed and warm as the days get colder and shorter.
