My name is Kristal, and just a short while ago, my life changed in ways I never could have imagined. On Halloween night, I was taking my kids out to get candy when I was shot nine times by a man I didn’t know. He even shot at my children. I was rushed to the hospital and was dead upon arrival, but somehow, I survived. Since then, every day has been a struggle. I can’t work, and it’s hard to move around. I need help just to get through the day and to care for my kids. The pain is constant, and I’m always scared to go outside. I never thought I’d be in this position, but right now, it’s a hard time for me and my family. My kids didn’t ask for this, and I just want to keep them safe and give them what they need.

Before this happened, I was working and doing fine. Now, I’m behind on rent and bills, and my kids need clothes and shoes. I’m doing my best, but I can’t do it alone. Anything you can give will help us get through this until I’m able to get back on my feet. I’m not asking for much—just a little support to help us stay safe and together.
