Help Krista on her road to recovery

As some of you may already know, Krista has suffered with many medical issues, including diabetes, her whole life.  In 2015, she suffered from a terrible infection which resulted in the loss of one of her legs below the knee.  Due to diabetic complications Krista contracted another infection.  On November 22nd she was admitted to the hospital again, where she underwent a lifesaving operation, which unfortunately led to the amputation of her remaining leg above the knee.  Right now, Krista is still in the hospital being treated for her infection.  She is still in a lot of pain from her surgery but is determined to get through this.  Krista is facing a lifelong battle and has gone through much of her life dealing with medical issues that no person should ever have to face.

Krista will remain in the hospital for the next coming weeks as doctors monitor her infection.  She will then hopefully be transferred to the rehabilitation center, where she will need to relearn how to complete daily tasks giving her current functional abilities, along with learning how to use a new wheelchair and other devices that  will assist her to live.  Krista will spend much of her future attending rehabilitation and medical appointments, as she regains her health and life.

Although she has struggled most of her life with diabetes and numerous other health problems, Krista has an extremely positive outlook on life and shows a fight and determination like no other, even during this very hard time.  

Krista is only 34 years old and is the mother to a sweet little four-year old girl, Averie, who is the light of her life. This is a very hard time for her, especially being away from her daughter.  It will not be an easy journey for Krista but she has a wonderful support system, consisting of her loving partner and little girl and family and friends.  Krista is very much in a time of need and support as she faces this lifelong battle. Krista had just started a new job before she became ill but unfortunately does not have insurance and will not be able to work for the next coming months.  She needs to focus herself mentally and physically on regaining her health, strength and life again, without having to worry about financial stresses.  

We would like to be able to help Krista to enter her home again once she is ready.  Right now, her home is not wheelchair accessible and many modifications need to be made inside to accommodate her.  All donations made will be used to help Krista pay for medical supplies, home modifications and new equipment she will need.

Krista is going to be facing a difficult life ahead but with the help and support of her family, friends and others, she will make it through.  Let’s help Krista get through this difficult time and home again to see her daughter.  We thank you for your thoughtful and generous support at this time.
