Saturday night, our lives changed in an instant when a drunk driver went airborne and crashed into my home and my car. The impact shook the whole house like a bomb, and since then my family and I have been trying to process the fear, damage, and uncertainty left behind. This is our family home, and it has been with us for a long time, which makes this loss and uncertainty even more heartbreaking. Right now, we do not know if the house is even salvageable, and insurance claims take time that we simply do not have.

I am raising funds for myself and my family so we can get into a safe place as quickly as possible and cover the urgent expenses that have come with this nightmare. I am a single mother of 3 children and I have no financial help, so this crisis has placed an overwhelming burden on us. On top of everything else, insurance is now not covering the loss of our car, even though the crash was the driver’s fault. Because of that, I will have to hire a lawyer to try to seek compensation and recover some of what we have lost. The kids just started school, our finances were already extremely tight, and I have also had to take time off work because of everything that has happened. Any support will help us with relocation, basic needs, and legal fees while we try to rebuild some sense of stability.
