Help Kris save Andalusian filly Terra Luna
Donation protected
*Update* THANK YOU!! Thanks to every one of you and your generous donations, surgery is an option for Terra if needed. She has a long way to go but she’s hanging in there, there’s no infection, and we’re all hopeful she’ll recover fully.
Many of you know my dear friend Kris Garrett. She is an icon in the Colorado horse community, and particularly in the Andalusian horse world. As everyone who knows her knows, she and her late husband John raised incredible Andalusian horses near Parker for decades. Not only did they devote themselves tirelessly to their horses, they both gave of themselves without reservation to their community, helping anyone who needed it. When I returned from Connecticut in 2007 and needed a place to live, they graciously opened their home to me. I know many others have been recipients of their limitless kindness as well. After losing John a few years back, Kris has been valiantly struggling on her own, giving her animals the best of everything, even if it meant sacrificing her own basic needs. Kris has a long history of helping out others in need; she voluntarily fundraised for me years ago when my mare was severely injured and I was unable to pay my veterinary bill.
Recently, Kris’s phenomenal home-raised Andalusian filly Terra Luna suffered a severe and life-threatening injury resulting from reaching through a fence to reach the new spring grass and becoming trapped between fences. Her limb injuries are extensive, including a severed tendon, and Terra is fighting her way back from death's door. With the help of Kris’s 24/7 care, extensive veterinary involvement, plus friends and neighbors when available, there is hope for Terra’s recovery, but each day is a struggle. She is not out of the woods. Her veterinary bills continue to grow. This is my Dotada’s full younger sister, about to turn five years old, who shares her grace and generous spirit. Would you please help? Anything you could share would be greatly welcome, and prayers are appreciated. If you’d prefer a different sort of gift, please contact me for more info. Thank you!!
