Hi, my name is Kris.
I'm starting this GoFundMe because I am in a dire situation. I was a pastry chef working towards raising enough capital to start my own dessert bar, but with COVID-19 I was laid off. On top of that, my roommate moved out of our two bedroom apartment to live with her significant other. This put me in a dire financial situation and I've already had to borrow money from some friends just to stay afloat during these tough times.
On January 12, 2021 I was involved in a car accident (thankfully, nobody was hurt) which puts a crazy amount of financial stress on an already worrying financial situation. Per my province's public insurance policies for automotives, the accident would give me 5 demerits on my rating which would make my license fees way beyond what I can afford to pay at this moment, but I need a car to work and my deductible that I would need to pay for repairs would also be out of my ability to pay.
UPDATE: I have lowered my goal as I was advised that it would not be realistic to attempt to buy back my claim. 3500 dollars would allow me to reset my debts and finances to better cushion for the future.
I'm hoping to reach my goal by the middle of next month, even if I suffer some late payment fees.
Any amount someone can spare would be greatly appreciated and would contribute to helping a struggling pastry chef get back on his feet. Thank you and God Bless you.
