Hello, my name is Kris, and I’m a father doing everything I can to protect my daughter and keep our lives stable during one of the hardest times in my life. Not long ago, my daughter’s mother—my girlfriend of 9 years—passed away suddenly from an aneurysm in our bed, in my arms. That moment changed everything for us. Since then, I’ve been doing my best to hold things together for my daughter while we both process that loss and try to heal. Unfortunately, during this already painful time, I’ve had to deal with ongoing harassment from her grandparents. The situation escalated to a serious incident where my daughter’s grandfather attempted to physically take her without my consent. Because of this, I had no choice but to take legal action and file for a restraining order to protect my daughter and maintain stability in her life. As this situation has continued, I’ve had to miss work to attend court, prepare my case, and make sure my daughter feels safe and supported. Without a strong support system, this has put me in a very difficult financial position. Right now, my focus is being present for my daughter, protecting her, and making sure she feels secure after everything we’ve been through. I am asking for help to cover basic living expenses during this time, including rent, food, transportation, and legal-related costs.
