Help Kris Fight Terminal Cancer & Navigate Probate
Donation protected
Eighteen months ago, my dear friend Kris was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal, and incurable brain cancer. Doctors gave her just six months to live, but Kris fought unimaginably hard, and thanks to treatments that were working, she gained an additional twelve months.
Then, five months ago, her treatment stopped working, and her oncologist, Dr. Bobbie Head at Marin Cancer Care, told her, “There’s nothing more we can do for you”. You maybe have two to three months left to live and to get your affairs in order.” Two days later, her husband tragically took his own life.
As if this heartbreak wasn’t enough, Kris is now enduring an unthinkable ordeal. Despite having a detailed will and trust, everything is now in probate, a process expected to take nine to twelve months. While probate drags on, Kris is facing:
• Stage 4 terminal brain cancer
• A new oncologist 13 months into her diagnosis
- A new and aggressive chemotherapy treatment with 2 types of chemo every 11 days for 3 days
• interviewing at UCSF, Stanford, UC Davis, UCLA, City of Hope and UC Irvine for any and all clinical growls that caters towards her type of cancer and mutation
• Weekly injections to keep her WBC, platelets, RBC, and hemoglobin up
- Preparing for surgery to have (7) lites of fluid removed from her abdomen
• Preparing for surgery to allow blood to better flow to her liver and take the severe pressure off her blood vessels and arteries.
• Preparing for surgery to have a portion of her esophagus removed, and her digestive tract reconfigured
• Preparing for her 3rd blood transfusion
• And planning both her husband’s funeral, and her own.
LET THAT SINK IN FOR A MINUTE…
Kris has always been a giver… the first to offer help to those in need. Anytime, all the time. It’s why she was put on this planet. Giving of service is a huge part of who Kris is as a human and is why I want to help. So now, more than ever, Kris needs us to rally around her in this unimaginable fight. She has come too far and fought too hard to let probate be the thing that takes her down, or lack of funds.
Whatever you can give—no matter how big or small—will help Kris navigate this medical battle and the probate process. Your support will buy her more time, and allow her to continue her cancer treatments. Kris can’t fight this alone. Let’s show her that she doesn’t have to. And that humanity still does exist.
