We never imagined we would be here.
If you know us, you know we are the kind of people who figure things out, work hard, and keep going no matter what. Asking for help has never been easy for us… and if I’m being honest, this has taken everything in me to even share.
But this season is different.
In December of 2025, Kris was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Since then, our lives have shifted in ways we couldn’t have prepared for. Between treatments, travel to the city, long days, and the unknowns that come with all of this—we are doing everything we can to stay strong and keep moving forward.
Kris has always been someone who shows up. For nearly 20 years, he has served our community through his work as an electrician, HVAC technician, and now as part owner of DJ’s Painting and Remodeling. He takes pride in working hard, providing for his family, and being someone others can count on.
Right now, we are asking for help so he can focus on what matters most—healing.
This journey is not just physical. It’s emotional, mental, and financial. The cost of treatments, travel, time away from work, and trying to maintain some sense of normal life adds up quickly.
More than anything, what we are asking for is the ability to stay present.
Present for treatments.
Present for our family.
Present for the moments that matter most right now.
If you feel led to donate, share, or keep us in your prayers, we are deeply grateful. Every bit of support means more than we can put into words.
We don’t know exactly what this road will look like, but we do know we are not walking it alone. And that means everything.
With love,
Wendy, Kris, and family
