Last night, Chris and Beata’s home completely burned. A little after 10 PM, flames engulfed their house, and by the grace of God, they made it out alive along with their two dogs. Sadly, their beloved cat, Sissy, did not survive the fire. They lost everything—their home, clothes, photos, belongings, and their sense of safety and normalcy. Everything they owned was gone in a matter of moments.

Today, Chris and Beata are trying to navigate the unimaginable while figuring out temporary housing that can accommodate their two dogs, replacing basic necessities, and beginning the overwhelming process of starting over from absolutely nothing. They need everything from food and toiletries to clothes, pet supplies, and long-term support as they rebuild their lives. If you know Chris and Beata, you know they are truly good people. They have always been kind neighbors and wonderful humans, and right now they need their community around them more than ever. The community is beyond thankful to every single person who ran toward the fire instead of away from it. As grateful as we are that nearby homes and families were protected, our hearts ache for Chris and Beata. It’s hard to imagine waking up today with nothing left except the clothes you escaped in.
