Brothers and Sisters, Family and Friends -
As you may have heard, two of our fellow Meridian firefighters have suffered significant, life threatening medical events in the last week. Captain Daniel Krenz was diagnosed with an aortic dissection, a life threatening medical emergency, after going to a Nampa Fire Station with abdominal pain. Only a few days later, Captain Garrett Hirsch suffered a cardiac arrest at a pickleball tournament. Thanks to the quick actions of our other brother, Jordan Williams, Hirsch survived and was taken to the cath lab at St. Luke's Boise. Amazingly, both members are continuing to improve, with Krenz already recovering at home and Hirsch expected to be released from the hospital soon.
These events have left our members and their families reeling with shock, confusion, but most importantly, a desire to do something to help. Right now, our immediate concern is taking care of medical costs and related finances for these members, as well as the longer term needs of them and their families. In that vein, we have set up this gofundme for anyone to donate to help them with their recovery. Any amount from any one is significant. Please feel free to share with your friends and family, and of course, fellow firefighters. This community has come together as it always does, in a way that never ceases to amaze us. All funds received will be split equally by the two members and their families unless otherwise indicated. Again, thank you for your consideration, and love and support of our brothers Krenz and Hirsch.
