Help Kramer fly safely in honor of her daughter Michelle
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Casey Monroe, and I am birthday fundraising for a dear friend and community pillar, Linda Kramer, lovingly known as "Kramer."
Kramer is a beacon of kindness and support in the Powered Paragliding (PPG) community and beyond. I am also honored to call her a personal friend.
Living in Burnet County, Texas, Kramer dedicates her time and energy to helping those less fortunate in the cities of Spicewood and Marble Falls. She volunteers at The Helping Center in Marble Falls, providing food to children and families in need. Additionally, she teaches Sunday School and volunteers in numerous capacities at her local church, always extending a helping hand to those in need. She routinely tries to find small odd jobs (pulling weeds from gardens, mowing lawns, small welding jobs, etc.) and buys impoverished children she knows are in need, Christmas gifts.
Kramer’s PPG (Powered Paragliding) Journey:
In October 2015, Kramer faced a heartbreaking challenge when her only daughter, Michelle, was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer at just 34 years old.
Over the next six years Kramer offered her only daughter loving and unwavering care taking moving in with her, and significant financial support (draining her retirement accounts) ensuring her daughter received the best treatment available at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Michelle ultimately lost her battle with breast cancer and passed away on February 2, 2022.
The loss devastated Kramer. She notes a noticeable desire to no longer live, as we are "supposed to" out live our children,
In the summer of 2022, only five months after her daughter’s passing, she suffered a debilitating stroke induced by stress. Doctors told her she would need a walker for the rest of her life and would never speak clearly again.
Kramer’s journey to recovery was arduous, but she found new purpose and motivation when she discovered powered paragliding. Early in her recovery, she witnessed a man run into the sky and fly. This inspired her to pursue her new dream of becoming a PPG pilot herself, and fly honoring her daughter Michelle by living her best life. Kramer also committed at that time, to spreading her daughter's ashes over Central Texas from the sky, which she later did flying out of Lone Star Paramotor.
Kramer had reached out to Lone Star Paramotor in San Antonio, Texas, where she received a warm welcome and encouragement from owner Ron Toran. After an amazing spiritual discovery tandem flight, Kramer joined the school and worked hard to earn her tuition by doing odd jobs.
Kramer has worked hard on defying the Doctors dreary prognosis, rehabilitating herself with flying PPG as a goal. She not only taught herself to walk, walk backwards and sideways, but is running brief distances and by the way used language programs to stimulate her brain and now speaks five languages. Clearly!
With 22 trike flights under her belt now, she recently used her remaining retirement savings to purchase a quality used trike. However, she needs a new, safer wing designed specifically for trike flying and the additional 200lbs of her geared up trike.
How You Can Help:
Kramer turns 64 this summer. Let’s celebrate her incredible journey and give back to someone who has given so much to others. We are raising funds to purchase a new Ozone Roadmax wing, a 32-meter trike-specific wing with the latest technology for safe take-offs, flights, and landings.
Any funds raised beyond the cost of the wing will go directly to Kramer’s PPG fund account. I am starting this fund with a $500 donation from my wife Leticia and me. Leticia, too, is facing her battle with invasive ductal breast cancer and will undergo surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center on July 2nd.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. Let’s help Kramer continue to make the world a better place for everyone.
