HELP KOURTNIE: MEDICAL COSTS FOR CANCER TREATMENT

We are Heather and Bob Leggett, the parents of Kourtnie Leggett Birch. It seems like only a short time ago that we were blessed with our sweet baby girl. Years have gone by so quickly, and Kourtnie is now 30 years old, was married only a few months ago, and was hoping to be blessed with her own bundles of joy. Then the nightmare began.

In December of 2021, Kourtnie discovered a lump on her neck and under her armpit. After several diagnostic tests, the diagnosis was received… Inflammatory Breast Cancer. After additional testing and a second opinion, chemotherapy began on May 27, 2022 in Columbus, OH.

Traveling 5 hours to/from treatments, reactions/illness due to the treatments, and losing her hair has clearly taken a toll on Kourtnie’s life. Due to the extremely high costs involved in appointments and medical costs, Kourtnie has continued to go to work to be able to afford the needed medical care. This is just near the beginning of her journey.. We are told that she will need 20 chemotherapy treatments, a mastectomy in November of 2022, followed by 5 treatments a week for 6 weeks of radiation, then reconstructive surgery.
