My name is Kourtney, and I have been living with type 1 diabetes for 25 years. Recently, I was accepted into a groundbreaking research study for an islet cell transplant at City of Hope in California. This opportunity could change the trajectory of my life and, if successful, may allow me to live without the daily need for insulin.
Participating in this study requires me to travel to California multiple times and stay there for a month after the transplant. While I am incredibly grateful for this chance, the travel and lodging expenses are significant and not covered by the study.
Your support will help cover the costs of getting to and from California, as well as my stay during this critical time. Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference and bring me closer to a life-changing outcome. Thank you so much for considering a contribution and for being part of my journey toward better health.
