Help with Kotas end of life expenses

Donation protected
Final update- Kota and I got to go on one more camping trip before his health went downhill. He got to enjoy the lake before he was rushed to the ER vet because he was acting very lethargic. We found out that the cancer has spread to his lungs and he has fluid in there. He is in lots of pain and his quality of life has gone down very quickly. I will be letting Kota cross the rainbow bridge in the comfort of his own home on 6/14/2024 at 11am. Thank you to EVERYBODY who helped and had hope for my boy. I had an amazing 4 months with him after his amputation and I am so grateful I was able to get that procedure done and still have some time for him to play with his friends, and have some quality time at home with summer and I. I will forever miss my sweet boy Kota and my heart just aches knowing he’s going to be gone.

UPDATE #3 - Kota is fully recovered from his amputation surgery! We are now looking into a clinical trial to get Kota the egfr/her2 vaccine, this has helped other dogs with osteosarcoma. He will also benefit from chemotherapy along with this treatment to ensure it all works. We are going to apply and hope he gets approved! Either way Kota has been getting spoiled and getting to hang out with his friends again. I will keep this updated as we figure out how we are proceeding. Please continue to donate and share, we got quoted $7500-$9000 for the chemotherapy and then the other testing needed for the vaccine. I have applied for some foundations as well to see if we can get some help from other sources as well.

UPDATE #2 - Kota has officially gotten his amputation surgery on 3/18/2024! It will be a 2 week recovery period and he is already doing awesome on 3 legs. Biopsy results will be coming back any day now and we will get further recommendations from his surgeon on how we should proceed. Thank you all for your donations, Kota and I appreciate it more than you will ever know! Please continue to share and donate if possible as I am still trying to pay down all these bills and future vet visits/chemotherapy.

EDIT- we unfortunately got the sad news upon more X-rays and scans that my boy does have some osteosarcoma in his leg. As of right now it has not spread to his lungs and if we are able to amputate in the next couple days he should be able to survive. It comes down to time and getting that amputation done before any cancer spreads. If it has already spread I’m going to have to make the hard decision to let my boy go. This isn’t the update that people wanted but life likes to throw curve balls at us. I’m hopeful we can get this procedure done and I can keep my boy alive and continue living a good life! Tomorrow we will be getting him in for an ultrasound to ensure it has not spread before proceeding with the amputation. We are still looking at around the same price will all appointments and surgery included! Thank you for donating and sharing my boys story!

Hi everybody, my name is Rachel Cameron. I’d like to introduce you to Kota, my beloved four-legged family member who has brought so much joy and love into my life. Unfortunately, Kota suffered a torn ACL after getting his foot stuck in his kennel and is in need of surgery to ensure he can continue to run, play, and explore with me. The surgery Kota needs is estimated to cost $4000-$6000. I am reaching out to my community for support in raising the funds needed to help Kota get back on his feet and live a pain-free life. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in Kota's journey to recovery. I am extremely grateful for any support you can provide, whether it's a donation, sharing his story, or sending positive thoughts and prayers our way. Thank you for helping me give Kota the chance to live a happy, healthy, and active life once again.
