Help Korra and Kaiulani Find a Safe Home
Donation protected
We are Korra (she/her) and Kaiulani (they/she), a queer couple in NH facing homelessness.
Korra was laid off in January, and we've exhausted our savings just to afford rent the past three months, while the rest of our bills have had to wait. Now, with a trans bathroom ban waiting on the Republican governor's signature, we need to relocate to a cheaper apartment in a state with stronger protections for us.
We are trying to obtain funds in order to lease a new apartment and move. 1 bedroom apartments in our target location are around $1500.00 a month, and we will need to provide a security deposit, as well as rent a moving truck. Your donation will help us cover first and last month's rent and the security deposit, as well as the moving truck and gas for the move.
We live over 1,000 miles from our closest immediate family, who reside in much more dangerous places for a queer couple (Indiana and Florida) so moving in with parents is unfortunately not possible for us.
About Us:
We are a married couple of 13 years, transplants from the Midwest, and live with two wonderful cats. Korra formerly worked in IT and software development for educational technology before massive layoffs at the beginning of the year due to the new administration. Kaiulani is a former teacher, currently working as a pharmacy technician.
Our goals in the next ten years are to stabilize our lives, pay down debts, and save enough to money find a small house in the countryside where we can grow old together.
