Help Koresh

My name is Violeth Edgar Nyoni, a Tanzanian pursuing my Master’s in Real Estate and Construction Management Finance in Sweden. I am among the six founding members of Tupendane Foundation and initiatives, a local NGO established to combat poverty by expanding education opportunities for communities that are poor and cannot afford quality education and social services like water, food and shelter in Arusha, Tanzania.

I have always had a passion for supporting the disadvantaged and vulnerable children in my country.  Growing up in a developing country, I have come across and witnessed a lot of stories and situations where children from poor families are denied their rights to education, food and shelter as a result of poverty. As a member of Tupendane Foundation and initiatives, I believe through sharing these stories of the disadvantaged children with the world, we can mobilize resources to improve their wellbeing.

I am raising funds on behalf of Koresh Hamisi Mollel (9) a boy raised by his single mum Upendo Mhindi (40) in Mianzini, Arusha. Their family lives in extreme poverty with no assurance of a single daily meal for their bellies.

Koresh Mollel, a fourth child was born in 2012. The young boy was born with disabilities including total blindness, clubbing fingers, missing toes and has also been suffering from difficulties in breathing. Despite his disability, Koresh embraces many roles and his true joy for life. He is a loving, intelligent, charming, inquisitive and confident young boy. He is gifted with a natural singing talent that will attract the attention of any listener.

In January 2021, he was sent to a Special needs school in Longido. This was his opportunity to achieve his dream of acquiring education like other children and create a better future. Unfortunately, during his stay at Longido School the little boy became really unwell and sick. He experienced difficulties in breathing and failed to continue with his studies.

In March 2021, the young boy was admitted at Mount Meru Regional Hospital in Arusha where he was diagnosed with cynactic congenital heart disease (congenital rubella syndrome) and was referred to Kilimanjaro Medical Christian Centre for cardiology and ophthalmology expert management. Koresh is currently at home with no anticipation of receiving further examination or treatment since the poor single mother cannot afford the travelling and cardiology and ophthalmology management cost. The cost is projected to be Tanzanian shillings. 5,200,000 which is around USD 2253 or EUR 1963.

These funds will be directly used to cover his travelling cost, accommodation and his medical bills at Kilimanjaro Christian medical Centre in Moshi. Please consider donating anything you can to support the medical bills for this child who is suffering with no medication for the whole year. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to this vulnerable child.
