On May 1, 2025, 16-year-old Konstantinos lost his father — and his entire sense of security — to a sudden, fatal heart attack. That same day, in a heartbreaking twist, their U.S. green cards arrived in the mail.

Harris, Konstantinos’s father, had been a single dad since 2011, when he was granted full custody. A professional pilot, Harris moved his son from Brazil to Greece, and eventually to Florida in 2022 to pursue his lifelong dream: giving Konstantinos a better life in the United States.

And it was working.

Konstantinos, now a high school junior, is a standout student and a varsity basketball player. He found friends, mentors, and hope. The future looked bright — until tragedy struck just one year before graduation.

Now, Konstantinos is alone.

His grandmother flew in from Greece to be by his side but she must return home in two weeks to care for her ailing husband. With no immediate family in the U.S., Konstantinos faces an impossible reality: too young to live on his own, and at risk of entering foster care, just as he begins his senior year.

But there is hope.

Konstantinos has been accepted to a Christian-boarding school, where he will receive an outstanding education and the emotional support he desperately needs. The school has offered partial financial assistance but more is needed to cover his meals, tuition and board.
