Kona is our 9-year-old dog, and she is so much more than a pet—she is family. She is my daughter’s best friend, constant companion, and source of comfort every single day.
When I adopted Kona, she had already been through a lot. She came to me with a broken femur due to a previous abusive owner, and thanks to the incredible support of the rescue organization, she was able to undergo surgery to repair her leg with a plate and screws. Despite that difficult start, Kona has always been full of life. She loves chasing squirrels, going on adventures, and being wherever her family is.
Recently, Kona injured her other back leg and has been diagnosed with a torn ACL ligament. She now requires surgery to repair the injury and relieve the pain she is living with every day. Watching her struggle to walk, climb stairs, and do the things she loves has been heartbreaking.
The hardest part is seeing the impact this has had on her relationship with my daughter. Kona used to climb the stairs every night to sleep beside her best friend. Now, because of the pain and limited mobility, she can no longer make it upstairs on her own.
The surgery will give Kona the chance to live comfortably again, return to the activities she loves, and continue being the loyal companion she has always been. Unfortunately, the cost of this procedure is more than we can manage on our own.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward Kona’s surgery and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Kona’s story would mean the world to us.
Thank you for helping us give Kona the pain-free future she deserves.
With gratitude,
Konas Family
