Hi all, if you don't know me, my name is Danielle Zacharias and I am an EMT in Colorado. If you do know me, you know my best friend, pride and joy, and main support system is my 5 year old pup, Kona. I got Kona when I was 21 years old, and we have been inseparable ever since. He has traveled this country with me, been through every major life event with me, and supported me through all my lows in life.

Kona suffered a spinal cord injury Friday 8/30 while playing catch in our backyard. Kona is home resting well after spending a night in the ER. Kona was diagnosed with an Acute non compressive nucleus pulposus extrusion (ANNPE). In other words, the fluid from one of his spinal discs shot out and penetrated his spinal cord, causing bruising and bleeding. Luckily this was not a surgical injury, but it is still a very long road to recovery for him. He is currently on very strict bed rest, and still has no use of his hind legs.

With all of this, the emergency vet and follow up appointment bills are starting to pile up. If you know me, you know I hate asking for help. But here I am asking for your assistance to help me nurse my baby back to health. The original ER bill including an emergency MRI and neurology consult was over $6000.
