I am starting a GoFundMe for my grandson Kole and family. In April of this year, Kole complained of blurry vision in his right eye. What his doctor thought was going to be a simple procedure turned out to be something quite serious. The optometrist was stunned and immediately contacted a specialist. After further examination, they determined Kole has a rare eye disease, Coat's disease.
Coat's disease usually is discovered in the toddler years. For whatever reason, it's just now showing up in Kole's eye.
Kole has to get eye injections every month. There is no cure for Coat's disease, so it's critical that he receives the monthly injection. Without these, Kole's vision will worsen and eventually he may go blind in his right eye. At some point, Kole will have laser surgery. Even with the laser surgery, Kole will need the monthly injections for the rest of his life or until a cure is found.
His parents' insurance covers a lot of the monthly bill for the injections, but a lot comes out of Kole's parents' pocket for the copay.
If you are able to put any amount of money now or in the future, thank you. I promise that all of the money will be put towards the procedures.
