Hi, I’m Debora, great grandma to Kohenn in the picture.

My grandkids, Riley and Onika Frank, are struggling big time right now. Their 3-year-old son, Kohenn, has been in St. Charles Hospital in Bend for over a week. He has two different viruses and a bacterial infection that they can’t seem to identify and get under control. They’ve been giving him different antibiotics, and nothing is working. He keeps having high fevers that will break and then come right back.

Onika has been out of work for over a week. Her dad is also up there because he just had open-heart surgery, and she’s been going back and forth between their rooms, trying to be there for both of them and her brother Makiah. Now they are sending Kohenn to OHSU in Portland. Money was already tight for this family, and after missing so much work and trying to take care of the needs of Kohenn and Dad, who lives with them, they are just overwhelmed.

Now part of the family will be here with Donnie while he recovers, and others will be heading to Portland to be with Onika, Kohenn, and Riley.
