Hello!

My name is Kofoworola Adebiyi, aka Kofo :)

I am a multidisciplinary artist working in painting and poetry, the latter of which evolves as sound films that speak to the story within my paintings.

Artofpath is a God given vision that first bloomed in my heart when I was in undergraduate school. For a long time I have wanted to engage the story telling qualities of my art for the purpose of inspiring others on their own journeys (paths) towards healing.

My art wasn’t always grounded in this passion, as it was initially primarily a means of escape and processing the shifting facets of my own identity and angst as I had yet to experience the clarity and purpose I have now found in walking with Jesus and living in an understanding of His love.

When I experienced this shift towards a creative purpose I felt sincerely passionate about, I prayed, and about a week later, during the worship service of the church I was attending at the time, the name “artofpath” echoed across my mind. I knew it wasn’t me, it was too intentional and perfect, it was a gift from God.

Ever since then (2019), I have been running artofpath as an instagram account that tells a story of light and the ever unfolding journey of a soul learning to walk with God on this side of eternity.

However, there is still so much that is yet to unfold! I am currently working towards organizing the first ever artofpath exhibition experience which will feature unique artwork from my own collection and a collective of emerging artists in Lagos Nigeria, which is my hometown where I grew up.

This is particularly impactful to me as since leaving my home at 17, I have never experienced my art in the context of home, nor had the opportunity to directly support and inspire likeminded emerging artists in the vastly strenuous and difficult economic climate of Nigeria.

As such the mission of this exhibition is to advocate for the arts in Nigeria by supporting featured emerging artists in building their artistic presence in Lagos, Nigeria and beyond whilst fulfilling the vision of artofpath, which is to inspire lives with the strength and faith needed to unveil the vulnerability necessary to walk the journey unto holistic healing.
