My son Kodie is just 6 months old and is about to undergo a 10-hour open heart surgery on April 15th. The past six months have been incredibly challenging for us. Kodie spent the first three months of his life in the NICU and, even after coming home, has had many hospital visits due to ongoing health issues. His heart condition is the most critical—he has double left outlet ventricular and a large hole in his heart, which causes his blood to mix and overload his lungs. He also has a temporary ostomy bag that will be removed after his heart surgery.

The funds raised will help us travel back and forth from the hospital while Kodie recovers, cover food and motel expenses, and provide aftercare items that won't bother his chest as he heals. I also need help caring for our dog while we're away. Unfortunately, we don't qualify for Ronald McDonald housing because we live just 36 miles away, instead of the required 40 miles. This has made things even more difficult, but I am determined to do everything I can for Kodie.

Kodie has been through so much, but he's headed in the right direction. I know God brought him to me and has him covered. I hesitated to ask for help, but as his only caregiver and unable to work due to his health complications, I could really use any extra support right now. Any help would mean the world to us.
