To our dear family, friends, and kind-hearted souls who come across this message,

My name is Kodak, and I’m a 14-month-old Siberian Husky. Just one month ago, my life changed forever when I was rescued and adopted by my mom, Pam. Before that, I lived tied up outside, exposed day after day to the unbearable heat of Miami. I didn’t know what love, safety, or comfort felt like—until now.

Unfortunately, during those hard times, I was bitten by a mosquito and contracted heartworm about six months ago. It’s a serious and painful condition that threatens my life.

Soon, I will begin treatment—a long and expensive journey. That’s why we’re reaching out to you: family, friends, and anyone who feels moved by my story. Your help can make the difference between just surviving… and finally living.

Right now, I’m not allowed to run, play, or even go outside to enjoy a moment in a park with my girlfriend Ashtrid or sister Bella. Any excitement or physical activity can put my heart at risk. All I want is to be healthy enough to chase butterflies, roll in the grass, and enjoy the life every dog deserves.
