Hello everyone,

We are reaching out to ask for your kindness and support for two incredibly special members of our community: an amazing person and my friend M, and her 7-year-old assistance dog, Koda.

My connection to Koda is deeply personal. I have been in Koda’s life since the very beginning and trained him from a puppy to become an assistance dog. Over the years, they have truly become my family.

If you are part of the Top Dog Training School, you almost certainly know them. Koda has met hundreds of dogs, and most of our customers know both Koda and M well. They are a massive, beloved part of the Top Dog Community, and now they need our collective help.

Koda is the absolute lifeline for M. She is in a wheelchair, and without Koda by her side, she cannot leave the house. Koda is the reason she can go food shopping, attend appointments, and navigate the world safely. Right now, because Koda is injured and unable to work, M is completely stuck at home and has lost her independence.

What Happened to Koda

Recently, Koda was enjoying some well-deserved time off work. True to his social nature, he was having fun, surrounded by all the friends he loves playing with. In a moment of pure joy, trying to say hi to another dog, he twisted his leg and completely snapped and tore his cruciate ligament.

X-rays have confirmed the severity of the injury. Koda has completely snapped the ligament and he urgently needs surgery to walk again pain-free, enjoy his life, and do what he does best: support his mum M.

At the moment, Koda is very sad as he is in pain and can’t go out. You can really see how badly this has affected him. It is heartbreaking to see such a vibrant, hard-working dog so down.

Why We Need Your Help

While we are doing everything we can to get him the surgical care he needs, the road to recovery is going to be long and expensive. Koda will require intensive physiotherapy to build his strength back up until he is fit enough to resume his duties as an assistance dog.

As someone who loves them like family, I am doing everything I can to support them, but we cannot do it alone. We are asking our amazing community and beyond for help to cover:

• The cost of Koda's vital physiotherapy sessions

• Specialist care and rehabilitation support to help M take care of Koda while they are both housebound during his recovery.

Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Koda’s rehabilitation and helping M get her independence back. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our page with your friends and family.

Please keep in mind that for the next 6 months at least his mum will be stuck at home together with Koda as she can’t leave Koda at home or go out without him.
