Help Save Koda - Urgent Medical Care for Our Beloved Cat

Donation protected
We never imagined we would be asking for help like this, but our beloved cat Koda is in critical condition and urgently needs medical care. He is facing liver failure and without intervention his life is at risk. Koda means everything to us and we are determined to give him every chance to recover.

Koda is the heart of our home. He’s a big, soft, lover boy whose gentle purrs and loving nature bring comfort to everyone around him. Seeing him so sick has been devastating for our whole family and we’re doing everything we can to help him fight for his life.

While Koda was temporarily in the care of a friend, his health declined rapidly. By the time my sister saw him and brought him home, he had lost nearly 50% of his body weight and was extremely weak. Since then, he has been under diligent, round-the-clock care at home, but his condition has progressed to the point where hospitalization is necessary.

Koda now urgently needs: life-saving medications, a blood transfusion, and a multi-day stay at a veterinary hospital for monitoring and treatment.

The costs of this care are overwhelming and more than I can manage alone, but I am determined to do everything possible to give Koda the best chance at recovery. Cat’s livers may regenerate with proper treatment. We just need him to get healthy enough to get to the next step and manage his treatment.

This go fund me is just for his emergency medical treatment, not continued care. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Koda’s treatment and medical expenses, helping him fight this illness and hopefully return to the happy, playful cat we know and love.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support. Whether through donating, sharing, or keeping Koda in your thoughts. Your kindness truly means the world to us during this incredibly difficult time.

update: Koda has a blockage around his gallbladder and bile duct that’s causing him to be sick. It could be cancerous or benign but he would need surgery regardless to remove the obstruction. With surgery he still may not make it. There’s a chance he could die in sedation or he might still go septic after surgery, which if that happens all his organs will shut down and he’ll be in a lot of pain. He is on painkillers now and still not eating on his own. We’re very heartbroken, but since he is already so down, euthanasia may be his best option.

update: Koda passed away last night
