Koda was a surprise blessing to our family. He is affectionate, protective, and very well behaved—easy to train and super smart! We love his little personality, and he gets along wonderfully with our other pets. Since we rescued him during an ice storm earlier this year, Koda has brought so much joy and love into our home.

Recently, Koda was hit by a teenage driver on our street. Our neighbor’s young grandson tried to prevent the accident, but the driver hit Koda and kept going. Koda is now at the vet, undergoing testing and pain treatment to prepare for surgery. He has a fractured left shoulder, a completely shattered left femur, a fractured left knee, road burn on his face, a lacerated tongue, and a few broken teeth. It’s heartbreaking to see him in pain, but we are doing everything we can to help him recover. We are so thankful to all of the neighbors who stopped to offer assistance during this difficult time—their kindness and support have meant so much to us.

The funds raised will go strictly toward Koda’s care and rehabilitation. If there are any funds left after his recovery, we will donate them to a local pet charity and use them to help raise awareness about the dangers of speeding in neighborhoods. We are so grateful for any support you can offer to help cover Koda’s veterinary expenses and give him the best chance at a healthy, happy life.
