Update: IV and several medications this week, but Koda is on the mend. We go back Tuesday to rerun her bloodwork. She had a 7 foot piece of fabric (width of a shoelace) from her washable pee pad, wound up in her small intestine . Three vets say she wouldn’t have made it through the night. It was a long couple of days and nights. First vet thought it was an infection. Second vet said it was an obstruction with specialty surgeon needed at $10k. We were struggling and came to the conclusion that we would have to put her down. As we were trying to come to grips with that and having to tell the kids, Dr. Racheal in Weimar, Texas called. “If that is your only option, I would like to give surgery a shot, and I will charge less than $2000. We drove out to Weimar. 1 1/2 hour surgery. Success! After losing his boxer to cancer last year, I couldn’t wrap my head around my son trying to understand the loss of Koda. God is good!
