Help Koda Heal: Support Urgent Vet Care

Meet Koda. Koda is the incredibly precious pet of my father. On Sunday, August 25th, Koda was injured in an incident with another dog. She was immediately taken to an emergency vet where Xrays and surgery were done. She lost part of her bottom jaw and had stitches put in to fix her lower lip.

Despite this, Koda went about her day with all the energy she usually would. She was happy and snuggly and knew exactly which treats she wanted (and which ones had the meds!).

However, the caveat with her recovery was that area maintain good blood flow. Earlier today we thought her stitches were torn only to discover that not only was the area not getting the blood flow she needed but antibiotics she was prescribed weren't effective against the infection she sustained in the incident.

Koda is currently hospitalized at the emergency vet. Receiving IV of the correct antibiotics and being monitored for her overall well being.

When she was initially taken to the emergency vet, Bill applied for Care Credit and was approved for 4500. Even after extending his limit to 6000 the future costs of Koda's care are going to well exceed what he or any of us can afford.

Koda has been his closest companion since the passing of his wife in September 2021 and losing her would absolutely devastate him. If there is anything that can be spared to put toward Koda's costs we, Bill, me, and all his family that love Koda, would be incredibly grateful.

Update for Koda: she is home. She has a feeding tube we have to syringe food and medicine into her tube to allow her mouth to heal completely before she can get hopefully her last surgery to suture up everything. She's a bit out of it with pain meds but she's a tough little girl and doing so well for us.
