Hey guys, this is Cody and Dani Fanning. This fundraiser is for our beloved Rez dog, Koda. He was found on the reservation right outside Phoenix a little over a year ago. He is battling an unknown life-threatening condition. On January 1st, Koda became severely ill with a dangerously high fever of 106. He was extremely lethargic, vomiting, and started to refuse food. After many inconclusive tests, it is suspected that he might be suffering from Steroid Responsive Meningitis Arteritis (SRMA)—an immune-mediated disease that affects a dog's nervous system and causes inflammation of the blood vessels surrounding the spinal cord.

The treatment for SRMA is ongoing, and while Koda has responded to high doses of steroids, he will require extensive future care, including visits to a specialized neurologist for further testing. We are working hard to help him get better, but the medical bills are far beyond what we can afford on our own right now. I am picking up extra shifts at work, and putting any money I make from selling art to the expenses. Our goal is $4,000.

Koda has been a constant source of love and joy in our lives. He’s the sweetest, most affectionate dog we’ve ever known. He came into our lives as a small, underweight pup, infested with ticks, and yet, despite all of that, he’s always been full of love and energy. We cannot imagine life without him, and we are doing everything we can to give him the chance to get better and live a long, healthy life.
