Help Koa Heal: Give a Rescued Puppy the Life She Deserves

On Sunday morning, we found a frightened young pup running across the road, trying to avoid being hit by a bus. Once we went to check on her, we learned that her previous owner had heartlessly dumped her weeks ago, and animal control was on their way to euthanize her; we couldn’t let that happen.

She was starving, thirsty, dirty, and severely malnourished. We brought her home, gave her a warm bath, a full bowl of food, clean water, and more love than she had ever known. We named her Koa, which means "warrior," because that’s exactly what she is.

When we took her to the vet for a routine checkup, we found out that Koa needs two urgent surgeries. She has a broken tooth that causes her daily pain, which is the result of a trauma, likely abuse. She also has a painful mass on her jaw, which turned out to be an infection from her time living as a stray.

We want to give Koa the second chance she deserves, one filled with love, safety, and healing, but the cost of these surgeries is more than we can afford on our own.

Despite everything she’s been through, Koa is a gentle, sweet, and playful pup who is slowly learning that love is real. Unfortunately, she is still in pain, and we can’t do this without your help.
