Help Knoxy Smile Again

Simone Knox (Knoxy) is a much-loved friend of many of us.

Her greatest loves are her partner, their cat Buster, her family, her many friends, sport, community and by far having a good yarn with mates and is known as being the life of any party.

Sadly, Knoxy has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer that started with skin cancer that metastasized and spread to the nerves in her face and jaw.

She needs major surgery on the 4th of August that involves the meticulous removal of her jaw and nerves where the cancer is living, followed by the intricate reconstruction of a new jaw with various grafts and titanium.

The operation alone is 14 hours.

She has a team of incredible doctors at the Royal North Shore, we are confident she is in the best care possible to remove the Big C but as you can imagine this is big and frightening in itself.

Knoxy is never lost for words and her ability to talk the leg off a chair is one of the things we love about her the most so it is not surprising that the scariest road of all is the post-op road to recovery as she learns to talk again.

The post-op road is expected to span at least twelve months, during which she will require extensive care, assistance and rehabilitation as she relearns how to talk, chew and eventually bring back her smile.

The recovery ahead itself is daunting and so is the financial burden of her not being able to work during this time.

Knoxy, the force of nature and friend to many, has touched the lives of everyone around her. Now, it's our turn to come together and offer her the support she needs.
