Help Knox Judah to Walk Jump & Run

Having a word like "defect" describing your precious baby changes you.  It swiftly drops the floor out from underneath you when doctors ask you if you want to abort your "defective" baby?  It consumes you with fear, sadness and guilt.  It awakens a beast within that arms itself with prayer, faith and family to come fight with you. We have been in this fight now for almost 5 years.

Knox Judah Wilson was born in 2016 & our life was forever changed. What we initially thought was just club foot turned into a lot more. Immediately after Knox was born we noticed that not only was his left leg severely clubfoot, but it also had no movement. This is when we saw the bump at the base of his spine. This turned out to be a benign tumor which 'housed' multiple nerves. Knox also has what’s known as a tethered cord. It is believed these 'pinched' nerves that run through this tumor (attached to his spine) block the movement in his left leg from the knee down. These medical conditions have lead to numerous medical procedures since his birth.

Two weeks ago Knox had his fifth surgery. We have lost track of the casting he has endured, whether to correct his club foot, &/or pre or post-surgery. He has slept in leg braces his entire life. Ongoing physical Therapy & prosthetics are a regular part of his life. All of this is compounded by travel expenses since his surgeries as well as pre & post-op appointments have either been at the St Louis Children's Hospital, or the Paley Institute in Palm Beach Florida. We are traveling back to Florida in two weeks for a 10 day stay to remove his current cast & do intense physical therapy. We are hopeful that this will be the final surgery on his legs. We are even more hopeful that God will intervene & spinal surgery will not be needed to remove the tumor. This part of his story is in God's hands for now.

As parents we vowed to do whatever it takes to give him his best quality of life with the challenges he was born with.  We are doing that, but sometimes we need our army to come alongside us to encourage us & help us when we are weary- whether that is financially, in prayer or just encouraging words.

Thank you for taking the time to read this & partnering with us & Knox. He is such a happy, loving child & we are blessed to be his parents!
