Help Knax to get a new computer
Knax is a very close real life friend of not only myself but a community of friends online primarily Secondlife who is currently in a position of being out of work and on benefits and is in desperate need of a new PC rig as his current system is well over a decade old and is on it's last legs and is not in a position to be upgraded due to it being outdated tech.
Knax relies on this system for doing his Job searches and job applications, e-mail and such. If his PC fails he'll be in an akward position when it comes to dealing with this as the only way he'd be able to do these to satify the job centre would be to use the computers that they have which do not allow for any social contact, wich would also leave him unable to communicate with most of his online friends as he doesn't own a smart phone and would have no way to use Discord, Twitter or Secondlife.
Currently he is stuck using Windows XP with a failing Motherboard that has already lost all sound and a graphic card that was a temporary second hand replacement that is also starting to fail.
Any funds raised will go towards getting him a newer replacement computer which due to his current position he is unable to afford without help.
We are aiming for around £400-600 to get him a decent set up that will last him a long while and anything extra past this would be used to get him a better monitor and other upgrades, like a possible extra HDD.
We have no real time scale for this just the sooner the better for him hopefully we can get something sorted before the old machine fails completely. If possible if we can get something sorted before the end of the year that would be fantastic.
Any assistance would mean the world to Knax as he's never been one to want to ask for help dispite his financial situation and would help to show how much the community and others miss having him around regularly.
