Support Sarah & Family in Her Fight Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Leah. I started this GoFundMe for my beautiful friend in my twin mom community, Sarah. Her story made a profound impact on me, such that I and others just wanted to help in some way. Your funds will help ease the mounting burden of medical and childcare costs and are directly deposited from here to her account.
Below is Sarah's story in her own words. It's very compelling, and we hope you'll consider giving to support her and her beautiful family:
I’m Sarah Wilson, a mom to three wonderful kids— my 4-year-old daughter and 1-year-old twin boys. At the end of 2024, my life changed in ways I could never have imagined. On November 29, 2024, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was news I never thought I’d hear— I have no family history, no BRCA gene, I’m healthy, active, and have breastfed all three of my children. I don’t smoke, and I hardly drink alcohol. I had no reason to believe this would happen to me. But there I was, opening my pathology report, expecting to hear that everything was fine, only to be told the opposite. My heart sank, and I immediately felt overwhelmed by fear and panic.
In the first weeks after my diagnosis, I went through a whirlwind of tests— mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, MRIs, CT scans, echoes. I met with multiple specialists and underwent a port placement surgery. On December 11, I began my first round of chemotherapy, and just two weeks later, on Christmas Day, my hair started falling out.
While this journey has been incredibly hard, I am so grateful for the amazing care I’ve received. My medical team has been compassionate, thorough, and efficient, and I feel supported every step of the way. I’m doing my best to stay positive, even though this is a path I never imagined walking.
On top of this, just before my diagnosis, I received a job offer that I was really excited about— but due to my diagnosis, that offer was rescinded, leaving me without work. It’s been incredibly difficult, especially since I can’t take my kids out of school. They need the stability and care that they’re getting there, but with no family nearby, childcare costs have become a huge burden.
I’m reaching out because I need help. The medical bills are piling up, and I’m struggling to cover the cost of childcare while focusing on my treatment and recovery. Anything you can contribute will make a world of difference for us.
How Your Support Will Help:
Childcare Costs: With no family nearby to help out, my kids need consistent care while I go through treatment. The funds will help cover their daycare and school costs, so they can continue with their routines and stay on track.
Medical Bills: Cancer treatment comes with a significant financial strain. Your donations will help cover the out-of-pocket expenses that insurance doesn’t cover, easing some of the financial burden during this challenging time.
Support for My Recovery: As I continue my treatment, I’ll also be using the donations to cover therapies and nutritional support that are essential to my recovery.
We are so grateful for any support you can offer—whether that’s through a donation or simply sharing our story with others. Your kindness means more than words can express, and I truly appreciate any help as we navigate this difficult chapter.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this journey with us.
With love and gratitude,
Sarah
