Help KJ Get Gender Affirming Surgery!
Donation protected
hi :’)
my name is KJ and i am a 24 year old trans person living in new york city studying clinical social work at smith college! i am chronically ill and am no stranger to the shame and difficulty of having to ask my community for support - but it’s the reality i’m in again and i’m grateful for anyone who supports me, helps me find joy in my life, and has helped me along in my journey of exploring my gender identity and transness. i’m confirmed for surgery in the first week of May!!! it’s beyond exciting and also a big sigh of relief to know that i am able to get top surgery soon so i can feel safe in my body and experience living in a body i really want to live and experience the world in! i’m currently working in my first year social work internship doing therapy with kids and it’s wonderful and also challenging because it’s unpaid and i am not making any income. it’s very important to me that i am able to get this surgery in May (my one month off from school) so i can have the proper time to heal and still continue participating in my grad program. i am also 24.5 years old meaning my parents insurance will only cover me for so long, so the sooner the better. i am able to use insurance for this surgery thankfully but my responsibility after insurance is somewhere between $5000-$6500 and then, of course, there are many expenses associated with the recovery as well so it would mean a lot to have any financial support from anyone who’s able to support me in this endeavor :’) sharing this, donating, and helping circulate this would mean the world to me. i love being queer because there is such love and support and understanding that is often present in our communities and i’m grateful to each and every one of the people in my life who support me and love me and encourage me every day. thanks for considering helping me out in the journey of finding gender affirmation and euphoria.
