Help Kiwi Heal: 1yo Cairn Terrier Knee Surgery

Kiwi is my 1-year-old Cairn Terrier, and right now I am doing everything I can to help her get back on her feet. Since rescuing Kiwi at 2-months-old, she has been the light of my life, a ball of energy who loves all things outdoors. Kiwi recently started growing less active, and my dog-mom instincts told me something was wrong. During a sedated scan on August 13th, we learned that she has a fully ruptured CCL (the dog equivalent of an ACL) in her right hind leg and a partial tear in her left. On August 27th, Kiwi will undergo CCWO surgery on her right leg along with preventative treatment on her left. I am so grateful to the team at Stafford Veterinary Center and to my parents for helping us move forward with her care.
I am raising funds to help cover Kiwi’s remaining surgery costs, estimated post-op care, medications, and quality of life items so she can still safely enjoy the outdoors during her 6 to 8 week recovery (my girl isn’t convinced indoors is the place for her and would spend every hour, awake or asleep, outside if she could!).
While Kiwi has pet insurance, it is only expected to cover about two-thirds of the costs, leaving significant out-of-pocket expenses and financial uncertainty until claims process. My parents have been endlessly generous in supporting me through multiple seasons of mental health challenges and recent physical health issues, but I aim to avoid placing this additional financial weight on them. My main goal is to give Kiwi the best chance at healing without delay and support her through every step of recovery.
If you are able, please consider donating to help Kiwi. Every bit of support goes directly toward her care. If you cannot donate, simply sharing this link or sending kind words means the world to us.
Thank you for caring about Kiwi and helping us through this! ❤️
